Transformasi Pembelajaran Matematika melalui Metode Membaca SQRQCQ: Studi pada Dua Sekolah di Tasikmalaya
Abstract
Kemampuan membaca pemahaman memiliki peran penting dalam pembelajaran matematika, terutama dalam memahami soal cerita yang menuntut siswa untuk mengolah informasi verbal menjadi representasi matematis. Namun, masih banyak siswa yang mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami konteks soal karena kurangnya strategi membaca yang sistematis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan metode membaca SQRQCQ (Survei, Question, Read, Question, Compute, dan Question) dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman teks aritmatika pada siswa SMA. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan subjek 20 siswa dari dua sekolah di Tasikmalaya, yaitu SMAN 8 Tasikmalaya dan SMA Al-Muttaqin. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, tes membaca pemahaman, dan dokumentasi kegiatan pembelajaran. Analisis data dilakukan dengan langkah reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode membaca SQRQCQ memberikan pegaruh posistif terhadap peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman teks aritmatika. Siswa di SMAN 8 tasikmalaya menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam mengidentifikasi informasi penting, merumuskan pertanyaan, dan menyusun langkah penyelesaian yang logis. Sementara itu, siswa SMA Al-Muttaqin juga mengalami peningkatan, tetapi masih membutuhkan bimbingan guru pada tahap refleksi. Secara keseluruhan, metode membaca SQRQCQ terbukti efektif dalam membangun kemampuan berpikir sistematis, reflektif, dan kritis siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika berbasis teks. Penerapan metode ini direkomendasikan sebagai alternatif strategi pembelajaran untuk mengintegrasikan literasi dan numerasi di sekolah.
