Strategi Peningkatan Kemampuan Menulis Puisi pada Siswa Kelas XI Melalui Penggunaan Video Visual Bertema Kerusakan Alam
Abstract
Menulis puisi merupakan salah satu keterampilan berbahasa yang diajarkan di tingkat Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA). Namun, banyak siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam menulis puisi karena kurangnya pemahaman terhadap unsur-unsur puisi serta penggunaan bahasa yang kurang estetis. Hal tersebut yang penulis temukan saat melakukan observasi ke MA Nurul Iman Lampung kelas XI A. Penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis puisi siswa kelas XI melalui penggunaan video visual bertema kerusakan alam sebagai media pembelajaran. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan siklus, yang terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Pada siklus pertama, hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa dari 20 siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran, hanya 12 siswa (60%) yang mencapai Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM), sementara 8 siswa (40%) masih belum memenuhi standar. Beberapa kendala yang diidentifikasi adalah pemilihan diksi yang kurang tepat, lemahnya penciptaan imaji, dan kurangnya struktur puisi yang kohesif. Untuk mengatasi kendala tersebut, dilakukan perbaikan dalam siklus kedua dengan memberikan latihan eksplorasi diksi dan imaji, memperpanjang waktu menulis, serta meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa dalam diskusi. Hasil evaluasi pada siklus kedua menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan, di mana 17 siswa (85%) berhasil mencapai KKM, sedangkan hanya 3 siswa (15%) yang masih belum mencapai standar. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan video visual sebagai media pembelajaran dapat membantu siswa dalam mengeksplorasi ide dan meningkatkan keterampilan menulis puisi, terutama dalam hal pemilihan diksi, penciptaan imaji, dan struktur puisi. Dengan demikian, metode ini direkomendasikan sebagai strategi alternatif dalam pembelajaran menulis puisi di tingkat SMA.
