Pemaknaan Puisi Syair Mata Bayi dan Tentang Mata Karya W.S. Rendra: Prespektif Semiotika Charles Sanders Peirce
Abstract
Penelitian ini membahas tentang analisis semiotika pada antalogi puisi Syair Mata Bayi dan Tentang Mata menggunakan kajian Semiotika Charles Sanders Peirce. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk menganalisis ikon, indeks, dan simbol (relasi trikotomi Charles Sanders Peirce) pada dua puisi karya W.S Rendra tersebut. Metode yang digunakan yaitu deskriptif kualitatif, metode pengambilan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode baca, simak, catat. Analisis data menggunakan metode analisis semiotika Pierce. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada dua puisi yang dijadikan sebagai objek penelitian tidak ditemukan adanya ikon, hanya terdapat indeks dan simbol. Pengarang menggunakan diksi mata sebagai simbol pada dua puisi tersebut yang memiliki makna berbeda-beda tergantung dengan konteks dan kata yang disandingkan dengannya. Sementara indeks pada puisi pertama yaitu kehidupan yang penuh ancaman karena manusia telah kehilangan mata batin atau kesucian. Sementara indeks pada puisi yang kedua yaitu kehidupan yang menyakitkan karena hilangnya lapangan pekerjaan yang yang mengakibatkan manusia tidak mampu memenuhi kebutuhan kehidupannya.
