Potret Kehidupan Keluarga Miskin dan Ketimpangan social dalam Film Pengabdi Stan (2017) : Kajian Sosiologi Sastra
Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana kehidupan keluarga miskin serta ketimpangan sosial direpresentasikan dalam film Pengabdi Setan (2017) karya Joko Anwar melalui pendekatan sosiologi sastra. Sebagai film bergenre horor, karya ini tidak hanya menyuguhkan unsur ketegangan, tetapi juga menyiratkan gambaran sosial yang mencerminkan kondisi nyata masyarakat kelas bawah di Indonesia. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif, dengan data utama berupa narasi, karakter tokoh, dan latar cerita yang dianalisis menggunakan perspektif sosiologi sastra dari Alan Swingewood serta teori ketimpangan sosial. Hasil temuan menunjukkan bahwa film ini merefleksikan kemiskinan yang bersifat struktural melalui representasi keterbatasan ekonomi, isolasi sosial, tekanan peran gender, serta ketimpangan akses terhadap layanan dasar. Unsur simbolik dalam genre horor dimanfaatkan sebagai instrumen untuk menyampaikan kritik terhadap ketidakadilan sosial dan dominasi sistemik yang menindas kelompok marginal. Oleh karena itu, film Pengabdi Setan tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai hiburan semata, tetapi juga sebagai medium reflektif dan kritik sosial yang menggambarkan realitas masyarakat Indonesia secara mendalam.
