Peran Leksikografi Dalam Pelestarian Identitas Bahasa Etnis Pakpak
Abstract
Bahasa merupakan unsur penting dalam pembentukan identitas suatu kelompok etnis karena melalui bahasa nilai budaya, sistem pengetahuan, dan tradisi dapat diwariskan dari satu generasi ke generasi berikutnya. Namun, perkembangan zaman dan dominasi bahasa yang lebih luas menyebabkan banyak bahasa daerah mengalami penurunan penggunaan, termasuk bahasa Pakpak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peran leksikografi sebagai alat dokumentasi dan revitalisasi dalam upaya pelestarian identitas bahasa etnis Pakpak. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan kajian pustaka terhadap berbagai sumber ilmiah yang berkaitan dengan leksikografi, dokumentasi bahasa, dan revitalisasi bahasa daerah. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa leksikografi memiliki peran strategis dalam mendokumentasikan kosakata bahasa Pakpak melalui penyusunan kamus, inventarisasi leksikon, serta pencatatan makna dan penggunaan kata dalam konteks budaya masyarakat. Dokumentasi tersebut tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai arsip linguistik, tetapi juga sebagai sumber pembelajaran yang dapat dimanfaatkan dalam upaya revitalisasi bahasa oleh generasi muda. Dengan demikian, pengembangan leksikografi dapat menjadi salah satu langkah penting dalam menjaga keberlangsungan bahasa Pakpak sekaligus melestarikan identitas budaya masyarakatnya.
