Analisis Pengaruh Media Sosial terhadap Kemampuan Berbahasa Indonesia pada Mahasiswa di Sumatera Utara
Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi efek media sosial terhadap skill berbahasa Indonesia mahasiswa di wilayah Sumatera Utara. Pemanfaatan media sosial yang masif memodifikasi pola komunikasi mahasiswa, khususnya dalam pemakaian bahasa informal dan gaya non-formal. Pendekatan yang dipakai bersifat deskriptif kuantitatif, dengan pengumpulan data lewat kuesioner virtual kepada 66 mahasiswa yang aktif di media sosial. Pengolahan data menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan basis persentase tanggapan responden. Kesimpulan penelitian mengungkap bahwa media sosial berdampak pada kemampuan bahasa Indonesia mahasiswa, positif melalui perluasan kosa kata dan insight bahasa, serta negatif via eskalasi bahasa gaul dalam rutinitas komunikasi. Penelitian ini menekankan perlunya mahasiswa memakai media sosial secara arif dan mempertahankan standar bahasa Indonesia yang benar dalam arena akademis maupun resmi.
