Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Project Based Learning Berbantuan Media Scrapbook terhadap Kemampuan Menulis Teks Cerpen pada Siswa Kelas XI

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Project Based Learning berbantuan media Scrapbook terhadap kemampuan menulis teks cerpen siswa kelas XI SMK Negeri 5 Medan. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh kelas XI sebanyak 382 orang, dari populasi tersebut ditetapkan dua kelas yaitu 32 orang kelas XI DPIB 1 (kelas eksperimen) dan 32 orang kelas XI TPM 1 (kelas kontrol) sebagai sampel penelitian yang diambil dengan menggunakan teknik cluster sampling. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian eksperimen dengan tipe posttest only control group design dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes esai. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1) Nilai rata-rata kemampuan menulis teks cerpen siswa pada kelas eksperimen dengan model pembelajaran Project Based Learning berbantuan media Scrapbook adalah 85,46, berada dalam kategori sangat baik. 2) Nilai rata-rata kemampuan menulis teks cerpen siswa pada kelas kontrol dengan model pembelajaran Direct Instruction berbantuan media film animasi adalah 69,53, berada dalam kategori cukup. Dengan demikian, dapat dikatakan bahwa nilai kemampuan siswa menulis teks cerpen kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol. 3) Berdasarkan hasil analisis, diperoleh thitung = 9,956 dan ttabel = 1,669, sehingga diperoleh thitung > ttabel yaitu 9,956 > 1,669 pada taraf signifikan 0,05. Jadi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima. Hasil penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa model pembelajaran Project Based Learning berbantuan media Scrapbook berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kemampuan menulis teks cerpen pada siswa kelas XI SMK Negeri 5 Medan.
