Pengaruh Media Audio Visual terhadap Kemampuan Kognitif Siswa dalam Materi Menulis Cerpen Kelas VIII SMPN 25 Kota Bengkulu
Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh media audio visual terhadap kemampuan kognitif siswa dalam menulis cerpen di SMP Negeri 25 Kota Bengkulu, mendeskripsikan besarnya pengaruh, serta mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang memengaruhinya. Penelitian menggunakan metode kuantitatif eksperimen dengan populasi seluruh siswa kelas VIII berjumlah 50 orang, sedangkan sampel ditentukan melalui teknik purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai keterampilan menulis cerpen siswa yang diajarkan dengan media audio visual adalah 77,29, lebih tinggi dibandingkan siswa yang diajarkan dengan metode konvensional yaitu 65,65. Uji t memperoleh nilai t hitung 4,812 > t tabel 2,009 dengan signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05, sehingga terdapat pengaruh signifikan media audio visual terhadap kemampuan menulis cerpen. Uji regresi linear sederhana menghasilkan koefisien regresi sebesar 194 dengan nilai signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05 yang berarti setiap peningkatan 1% penggunaan media audio visual dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menulis cerpen sebesar 194. Faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi efektivitas media audio visual meliputi tingkat pendidikan dan pengetahuan umum, kemampuan bahasa, daya imajinasi dan kreativitas, kemampuan berpikir kritis dan analitis, pengalaman pribadi dan sosial, minat serta motivasi menulis, serta lingkungan sosial budaya. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa media audio visual berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kemampuan kognitif siswa dalam menulis cerpen di SMP Negeri 25 Kota Bengkulu.
