Representasi Perempuan dalam Cerpen Perempuan dan Sebilah Pisau Karya Tati Y Adiwinata
Abstract
Penelitian ini mengkaji representasi perempuan dalam cerpen “Perempuan dan Sebilah Pisau” karya Tati Y. Adiwinata dengan memusatkan perhatian pada pengaruh budaya tradisional dan modern serta isu-isu sosial yang berkaitan dengan marginalisasi, subordinasi, stereotipe gender, dan kekerasan. Melalui pendekatan deskriptif-kualitatif dan metode pembacaan dekat (close reading), penelitian ini menganalisis unsur intrinsik cerita, meliputi penokohan, alur, konflik, dan simbolisme, untuk mengungkap bagaimana konstruksi perempuan dibentuk dalam teks. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tokoh perempuan direpresentasikan sebagai subjek yang berada dalam tekanan ganda. Tekanan pertama berasal dari budaya tradisional yang menempatkannya pada posisi domestik, patuh, dan bergantung pada laki-laki. Tekanan kedua muncul dari budaya modern yang meskipun menawarkan perubahan, tetap belum mampu menghapus struktur patriarki yang mengekang perempuan. Cerpen ini menampilkan bentuk-bentuk ketidakadilan gender melalui marginalisasi terhadap ruang gerak perempuan, subordinasi dalam hubungan kekuasaan, serta stereotipe yang menggambarkan perempuan sebagai makhluk lemah, emosional, dan tidak berdaya. Selain itu, kekerasan fisik dan psikologis yang dialami tokoh perempuan memperlihatkan bagaimana dominasi patriarki beroperasi dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Simbol pisau berperan penting sebagai representasi ambivalen yang mencerminkan ancaman sekaligus kemungkinan resistensi perempuan terhadap penindasan. Pisau tidak hanya menandai kekuatan kontrol laki-laki, tetapi juga membuka ruang interpretasi mengenai keberanian dan potensi agensi perempuan dalam menghadapi tekanan sosial. Temuan penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa cerpen tersebut menghadirkan gambaran kompleks mengenai posisi perempuan dalam pertemuan antara budaya tradisional dan modern, serta menunjukkan adanya peluang bagi perempuan untuk menegaskan diri dan melakukan perlawanan terhadap struktur sosial yang menindas genre
