Pelajaran Ekologis dari Sastra: Kearifan Lokal dalam Novel Upacara
Abstract
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengeksplorasi kearifan lokal upacara adat masyarakat Dayak dalam novel Upacara karya Korrie Layun Rampan berdasarkan kajian ekokritik Greg Garrard. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data dalam penelitian ini berupa narasi dan kutipan dari novel yang mendeskripsikan ekokritik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan dua temuan utama. Pertama, kearifan lingkungan budaya yang tercermin dalam berbagai upacara adat, yaitu: (1) Upacara Anan La Lumut, (2) Upacara Balian, (3) Upacara Kewangkey, dan (4) Upacara Nalin Taun Palulung. Kedua, konsep lingkungan yang diwujudkan melalui: (1) Sikap hormat terhadap alam, dan (2) Sikap kasih sayang serta kepedulian terhadap alam. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa dalam novel Upacara karya Korrie Layun Rampan, terdapat pesan penting untuk memanfaatkan alam secara bijaksana, hanya untuk kebutuhan hidup yang layak sebagai manusia, sesuai prinsip ekokritik Greg Garrard. Kontribusi penelitian ini adalah memberikan wawasan baru tentang hubungan antara sastra dan kearifan lokal dalam mendukung kesadaran ekologis, khususnya dalam konteks masyarakat adat Dayak. Penelitian masa depan diharapkan dapat menggali lebih dalam mengenai penerapan konsep ekokritik pada karya sastra Indonesia lainnya yang mengangkat tema lingkungan dan kearifan lokal, serta menganalisis dampaknya terhadap pembentukan kesadaran ekologis dalam masyarakat modern.
