Analisis Penggunaan Media Sosial dan Kebiasaan Code Mixing terhadap Kemampuan Berbahasa Indonesia Formal Mahasiswa dalam Penulisan Karya Tulis Ilmiah di Perguruan Tinggi
Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penggunaan media sosial dan kebiasaan code mixing serta keterkaitannya dengan kemampuan berbahasa Indonesia formal mahasiswa dalam penulisan karya tulis ilmiah. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh tingginya penggunaan media sosial di kalangan mahasiswa yang diikuti kebiasaan penggunaan bahasa campuran antara bahasa Indonesia, bahasa Inggris, dan bahasa gaul dalam komunikasi sehari-hari. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi terhadap mahasiswa perguruan tinggi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa aktif menggunakan media sosial seperti Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp, dan YouTube dengan durasi penggunaan yang cukup lama. Dalam komunikasi sehari-hari, mahasiswa cenderung menggunakan bahasa santai, bahasa gaul, dan code mixing karena dianggap lebih menarik dan mempermudah komunikasi. Meskipun mahasiswa memahami pentingnya penggunaan bahasa Indonesia formal dalam karya ilmiah, masih ditemukan penggunaan bahasa tidak baku dalam tugas akademik dan presentasi. Kebiasaan penggunaan bahasa campuran di media sosial turut memengaruhi kemampuan mahasiswa dalam menggunakan bahasa Indonesia formal pada penulisan karya tulis ilmiah.
