Analisis Semiotika Charles Sandres Peirce Pada Naskah Drama Amangkurat Karya Goenawan Mohammad
Abstract
Penelitian bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk ikon, indeks, dan simbol dalam naskah drama Amangkurat-Amangkurat karya Goenawan Mohammad berdasarkan kajian semiotika Charles Sanders Peirce. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh banyaknya tanda-tanda semiotik dalam drama yang merepresentasikan kekuasaan, konflik politik, pengkhianatan, serta kritisisme terhadap kemanusiaan dalam kehidupan kerajaan Mataram. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data penelitian berupa naskah Drama Amangkurat-Amangkurat karya Goenawan Mohammad, sedangkan data penelitian berupa kata, frasa, dialog, dan narasi yang mengandung unsur semiotik.Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui studi pustaka dan teknik simak-catat . Analisis data dilakukan dengan mengidentifikasi dan mengelompokkan tanda berdasarkan kategori, ikon, indeks, dan simbol menurut teori Charles Sanders Peirce.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ikon dalam drama menggambarkan kondisi psikologis dan sosial tokoh melalui hubungan kemiripan, indeks yang memperlibatkan hubungan sebab-akibat dari tindakan kekuasaan dan konflik politik, sedangkan simbol merepresentasikan kekuasaan, kekerasan, penghianatan, dan kehancuran moral dalam budaya kerajaan Jawa. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa drama Amangkurat-Amangkurat tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai karya sastra sejarah, tetapi juga sebagai media kritik sosial terhadap kekuasaan absolut dan hilangnya nilai kemanusiaan.
