Analisis Makna Simbolik Perlengkapan Pada Upacara Horja Bius Batak Toba (Kajian Semiotika)
Abstract
Penelitian ini membahas makna simbolik perlengkapan dan bahan makanan dalam upacara adat Horja Bius masyarakat Batak Toba melalui pendekatan semiotika. Horja Bius dipahami sebagai ritual adat yang mengandung nilai spiritual, sosial, dan kosmologis. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa unsur ritual seperti hewan persembahan, makanan adat, air suci, perlengkapan sirih, pakaian adat, dan gondang memiliki makna denotatif dan konotatif yang melambangkan kesucian, pengorbanan, perlindungan, kehidupan, serta persatuan, sekaligus meneguhkan identitas dan nilai Dalihan Na Tolu masyarakat Batak Toba.
