Metode SQ3R terhadap Keberhasilan Membaca Peserta Didik Al-Muttaqin Kota Tasikmalaya
Abstract
kemahiran berbicara, kemahiran membaca, dan kemahiran menulis. Dari keempatnya, kemahiran membaca memiliki peran penting dalam penguasaan pengetahuan dan pengembangan berpikir kritis. Namun, dalam praktik pembelajaran, keterampilan membaca seringkali belum mendapatkan perhatian yang optimal. Peneliti ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kesuksesan penerapan metode membaca SQ3R (Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review) dalam meningkatkan keterampilan membaca peserta didik kelas XII MIPA 4 SMA Al-Muttaqin Fullday & Islamic Boarding School Kota Tasikmalaya. Dalam penelitian ini peneliti menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik observasi dan analisis dari hasil belajar peserta didik. Informasi diperoleh dari 10 peserta didik melalui kegiatan pembelajaran membaca teks artikel ilmiah berjudul “Meningkatkan Kesadaran untuk Berperilaku Antikoruptif Berlandaskan Sembilan Nilai Antikorupsi”. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 70% peserta didik mencapai kategori sangat baik, 10% kategori baik, dan 20% kategori cukup, dengan rata-rata nilai 95. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa metode SQ3R mampu meningkatkan partisipasi aktif, pemahaman bacaan, serta kesanggupan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Dengan demikian, metode SQ3R dapat dijadikan strategi pembelajaran efektif dalam pengajaran keterampilan membaca di tingkat sekolah menengah atas.
