Penerapan Strategi Membaca SQ3R Pada Siswa Kelas X Dalam Memahami Artikel Populer
Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan strategi membaca SQ3R (Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review) dalam meningkatkan kemampuan memahami isi bacaan artikel populer pada siswa kelas X SMAN 3 Tasikmalaya. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasari oleh pentingnya keterampilan membaca sebagai kemampuan dasar berbahasa yang mendukung perolehan pengetahuan dan kemampuan berpikir kritis. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif yang dilaksanakan dalam konteks pembelajaran alami di kelas. Data diperoleh melalui observasi, dokumentasi, dan hasil tulisan siswa pada setiap tahap SQ3R. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan strategi SQ3R secara efektif dapat meningkatkan pemahaman bacaan siswa. Pada tahap Survey, siswa mampu mengidentifikasi ide pokok bacaan; pada tahap Question dan Read, siswa aktif menyusun serta menemukan jawaban dari pertanyaan pemahaman; pada tahap Recite, siswa dapat menyampaikan kembali isi bacaan dengan bahasa sendiri; dan pada tahap Review, siswa menunjukkan peningkatan daya ingat terhadap isi teks. Meskipun beberapa siswa mengalami kendala dalam pengelolaan waktu, secara keseluruhan strategi ini meningkatkan keterlibatan, pemahaman, dan kemampuan mengingat siswa. Dengan demikian, metode SQ3R dapat dipertimbangkan sebagai strategi yang efektif dalam pembelajaran membaca pemahaman di tingkat sekolah menengah.
