Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan model picture and picture terhadap pembelajaran menulis teks berita siswa kelas VII SMP Satap 2 Patimpeng. Fokus penelitian ini dilihat pada tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi pembelajaran menulis teks berita siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri Satap 2 Patimpeng yang dilakukan dengan dua siklus. Data penelitian ini berupa data primer yaitu data yang diperoleh langsung dari hasil penelitian dengan menggunakan alat pengukur atau alat pengambil data langsung pada subyek sebagai sumber informasi. Adapun data sekunder adalah data dari hasil penelitian melalui tangan kedua atau dengan cara tidak langsung. Data primer dalam penelitian ini adalah data primer yang diambil dari penelitian berupa hasil tes menulis teks berita siswa kelas VIII SMP Satap 2 Patimpeng, Kecamatan Patimpeng, Kabupaten Bone.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dengan Penerapan Model picture and picture dapat meningkatkan pemahamn siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri Satap 2 Patimpeng, Kecamatan Patimpeng, Kabupaten Bone dalam memahami teks berita, terkait tiga aspek yaitu aspek pokok berita, keragka berita, dan menulis berita. Tetapi dalam merangkai kalimat-kalimat berita menjadi sebuah artikel berita masih belum bisa dan perlu pendekatan lainnya. Model picture and picture memiliki daya Tarik tersendiri bagi siswa dalam proses pembelajaran menulis teks berita. Terlebih lagi jika gambar-gambar yang diperlihatkan berkaitan dengan maslah budaya yang ada disekitar lingkungan Masyarakat dimana siswa berada, misalnya gambar-gambar tentang pesta panen.
