Transformasi Novel The Architecture of Love karya Ika Natassa ke Film The Architecture of Love Sutradara Taddy Soeriaatmadja: Kajian Ekranisasi
Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan proses ekranisasi yang terjadi pada novel The Architecture of Love karya Ika Natassa ke dalam bentuk film berjudul sama yang disutradarai oleh Teddy Soeriaatmadja. Fokus utama penelitian adalah pada transformasi peristiwa, unsur-unsur, serta alur cerita dari novel ke film. Selain itu, peneliti juga menganalisis struktur naratif dalam film guna mengungkap hasil dari proses adaptasi, termasuk penambahan tokoh dalam versi film. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif, dengan menggambarkan data berdasarkan perubahan yang terjadi dari teks novel ke media film. Penelitian ini mengacu pada teori ekranisasi yang dikemukakan oleh Pamusuk Eneste dalam bukunya Novel dan Film. Teknik analisis data meliputi penandaan bagian-bagian yang mengalami perubahan, reduksi data, serta verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya transformasi dalam struktur intrinsik dan naratif film, termasuk pengurangan, penambahan, serta variasi perubahan yang memengaruhi unsur dan alur cerita. Film The Architecture of Love mengalami cukup banyak modifikasi, bahkan memuat beberapa adegan yang tidak terdapat dalam novel. Meskipun demikian, film ini tetap berhasil menyampaikan esensi cerita yang ada dalam novel tanpa mengubah inti alurnya.
