Bahasa Indonesia sebagai Tolak Ukur Kemampuan Berbicara di Depan Umum pada Siswa SMA Kelas 1
Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji bagaimana mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia dapat dijadikan sebagai acuan dalam menilai kemampuan berbicara di depan umum bagi siswa kelas X SMA. Kemampuan berbicara sendiri merupakan aspek penting dalam keterampilan berbahasa, karena mencerminkan tidak hanya aspek pengetahuan (kognitif), tetapi juga unsur afektif dan keterampilan gerak (psikomotorik) siswa. Dalam pelaksanaannya, pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia tidak sekadar menyampaikan teori linguistik, melainkan juga memberikan kesempatan kepada peserta didik untuk mengembangkan keterampilan berbicara melalui berbagai kegiatan aktif seperti debat, diskusi, dan presentasi.
Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, dengan metode pengumpulan data yang mencakup observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi yang melibatkan guru dan siswa Bahasa Indonesia. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa dengan prestasi tinggi dalam pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia umumnya menunjukkan kemampuan berbicara yang lebih baik, baik dari segi kelancaran, struktur, maupun kepercayaan diri saat berbicara di depan umum. Hal ini didukung oleh penguasaan materi, kemampuan memilih diksi dan intonasi yang tepat, serta keterlibatan dalam aktivitas pembelajaran yang bersifat praktik langsung.
Berdasarkan temuan tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia dapat digunakan sebagai alat untuk mengukur kemampuan berbicara siswa secara efektif. Selain itu, mata pelajaran ini juga berperan penting dalam membentuk karakter siswa yang komunikatif, kritis, dan percaya diri dalam menyampaikan ide secara lisan.
