Analisis Penggunaan Istilah Asing (Bahasa Inggris) terhadap Penggunaan Bahasa Indonesia pada Mahasiswa di Lingkungan Kampus
Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pemakaian istilah luar/bahasa asing (bahasa Inggris),dalam pemakaian bahasa Indonesia di kalangan mahasiswa di lingkungan kampus. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif melalui metode deskriptif. Metode pengumpulan data dilaksanakan melalui wawancara observasi dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian yatu mahasiswa,Program Studi PPKn. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan istilah bahasa Inggris dalam interaksi sehari-hari, sudah cukup sering digunakan , baik dalam aktivitas kuliah, organisasi, ataupun media sosial. Istilah seperti deadline,online, upload, download feedback,meeting, menjadi elemen dalam kebiasaan berinteraksi mahasiswa dalam area kampus. Pemakaian istilah bahasa Inggris terpengaruh oleh kemajuan teknologi, platform media sosial, jaringan internet, dan suasana interaksi mahasiswa.Selain itu, pemakaian istilah bahasa Inggris dinilai dapat memperlancar komunikasi.karena lebih efisien, ringkas, dan mudah dimengerti. Namun, penerapan istilah bahasa Inggris yang berlebihan juga memengaruhi penggunaan bahasa Indonesia,seperti adanya kebiasaan menggabungkan bahasa Indonesia dengan bahasa Inggris dalam komunikasi sehari-hari,khusus nya dilingkungan akademik yang seharusnya formal baku.Namun, mahasiswa tetap menyadari betapa pentingnya melestarikan penggunaan bahasa Indonesia sebagai bahasa kesatuan dan identitas bangsa,terutama dalam aktivitas akademis dan keadaan resmi di area kampus.Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemakaian istilah asing (bahasa Inggris) di lingkungan Kampus menjadi elemen penting dalam pola komunikasi mahasiswa, namun penerapannya harus tetap dikendalikan agar penggunaan bahasa Indonesia tetap terjaga dengan baik.
