Implementasi Short Neighbourhood Walk pada Teks Deskriptif Untuk Meningkatkan Keterampilan Berbicara Bahasa Inggris
Abstract
Keterampilan berbicara merupakan keterampilan berbahasa Inggris yang diajarkan kepada siswa di sekolah untuk memberikan bekal siswa mampu berkomunikasi secara lisan. Namun banyak kendala yang dihadapi oleh para siswa. Oleh karena itu dilakukan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut berjudul. Implementasi Short Neighbourhood Walk pada Teks Deskriptif untuk Meningkatkan Keterampilan Berbicara Bahasa Inggris Siswa kelas VIII Ruang 1 MTs Negeri 1 Kotawaringin Timur Tahun Pelajaran 2018/2019
Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis keaktifan, kedisiplinan dan kerjasama siswa selama proses belajar dalam mengimplementasikan Short Neighbourhood Walk untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara bahasa Inggris dan untuk menganalisis hasil belajar siswa dalam berbicara bahasa Inggris
Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Setiap siklus teridiri dari 3 kali pertemuan dengan prosedur penelitian dimulai dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Dengan jumlah 32 siswa sebagai subyek penelitian. Data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh melalui tes berbicara bahasa Inggris dan non tes diperoleh dari hasil observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Data tersebut kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif.
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dengan mengimplementasikan Short Neighbourhood Walk berhasil meningkatkan keaktifan, kedisiplinan dan kerjasama antar siswa selama proses belajar di akhir siklus 2 sebesar 25% dan meningkatkan hasil belajar dalam keterampilan berbicara bahasa Inggris sebesar 21,88%, sedangkan ketuntasan belajar secara klasikal mencapai 100% dengan prosentase peningkatan di akhir siklus sebesar 56,25%.
