Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji cerpen "Pernakah Kau Menjadi Ikan" karya Gus TF Sakai untuk memahami pemanfaatan gaya bahasa dalam menciptakan efek estetis dan mendalam. Latar belakang penelitian ini berfokus pada bagaimana cerpen tersebut mengeksplorasi tema transformasi, kekecewaan, dan konfrontasi dengan kenyataan melalui gaya bahasa yang kaya. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan studi literatur, dengan analisis terhadap diksi, struktur kalimat, dan figur retoris dalam cerpen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemilihan diksi yang cermat, variasi struktur kalimat, dan penggunaan figur retoris yang kreatif secara efektif menyampaikan emosi dan tema cerita. Diksi seperti "menjelma" dan "blue devil" menekankan transisi antara mimpi dan kenyataan, sementara struktur kalimat yang variatif menciptakan ritme dinamis yang mencerminkan perubahan emosi. Figur retoris seperti metafora, simile, dan personifikasi memperkaya dimensi simbolis cerita. Signifikansi penelitian ini terletak pada kontribusinya dalam memperluas pemahaman tentang teknik stilistika dalam sastra, memberikan wawasan baru tentang penggunaan gaya bahasa untuk mengungkap tema-tema kompleks, dan memperkaya kajian sastra Indonesia serta teori estetika dalam sastra.
