Pengembangan Bahan Ajar Berbasis Project-Based Learning (PjBL) untuk Menulis Teks Laporan Hasil Observasi Berbantuan Google Sites di Sekolah Menengah Pertama
Indonesia
Abstract
This study aims to develop teaching materials for writing "Observation Report" texts based on the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model, utilizing Google Sites for 8th-grade junior high school students. The study employs the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, comprising the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. Data were collected through document analysis, observation, interviews, questionnaires, expert validation, and writing skills tests. Needs analysis results indicated that instruction still focused primarily on text comprehension and identification, while activities such as observation, data collection, outlining, drafting, and revision were not optimally implemented. The developed product incorporates content, sample texts, videos, interactive exercises, observation projects, writing activities, peer review, revision, reflection, rubrics, and automated feedback via the Google Sites platform. Validation results showed average scores of 4.82 from the subject matter expert, 4.15 from the media expert, and 4.90 from the language expert. Student response reached 87.1%, falling into the "highly feasible" category. Effectiveness testing demonstrated an increase in the experimental class's average score from 56.94 to 88.52, with an N-Gain score of 0.715 (71.5%), placing it in the high category. The Mann-Whitney U test yielded a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05). Consequently, the developed teaching materials are deemed feasible and effective for use in Indonesian language instruction at the junior high school level.
