Analisis Puisi Akuarium karya Sapardi Djoko Damono: Kajian Semiotik Riffaterre
Abstract
Ambiguity in poetry makes it difficult to interpret, even though it contains many meanings, one of which is Sapardi Djoko Damono's poem Akuarium. Therefore, this study aims to analyze or interpret Sapardi Djoko Damono's poem Akuarium. The method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative method using Riffaterre's approach with the first steps being heuristic reading, followed by hermeneutic reading. Once the reading is done, the matrix, model, variant, and hypogram are determined. The results of this study show that Sapardi Djoko Damono's poem is about the existence of humans who are limited, controlled, and do not have free will. This can be seen through the matrix in this poem, namely life that takes place in a closed system that both restricts and maintains, so that limitations are normal. This matrix is found in several models, namely phrase repetition, repeated similarities, identity dissolution, and the absence of resistance. Meanwhile, the variants found in this poem are the human body, which is likened to a fish, and natural elements. Finally, the hypogram in this study is the aquarium as an artificial living space and life that is normalized in a closed system.
