Analisis Gaya Bahasa dalam Lirik Lagu Album “Ceritera” karya Hivi!
Abstract
This study aims to describe the types of figures of speech used in the lyrics of the album “Ceritera” by the band Hivi! and to explain the function and meaning of these figures of speech in creating the atmosphere, emotion, and message of each song. This album was chosen because its lyrics are rich in figurative expressions and distinctive wordplay, making it relevant to study from a stylistic perspective. The research was conducted using a qualitative descriptive method through a stylistic approach. Data were collected using the listen-and-note technique on excerpts of the lyrics, then processed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The analysis identified nine types of figures of speech: personification, assonance, repetition, symbolism, hyperbole, simile, rhetorical questions, synecdoche, and alliteration. Assonance was recorded as the most dominant figure of speech, followed by symbolism, personification, repetition, and alliteration. Meanwhile, hyperbole, simile, and rhetorical questions appeared with relatively equal frequency, while synecdoche was the least frequently encountered figure of speech. This prominent tendency toward assonance indicates that elements of musicality and the beauty of sound are primary considerations in the composition of the lyrics the lyrics are crafted to be pleasing to the ear and harmonious with the melody, without sacrificing the depth of meaning intended to be conveyed. Overall, the various figures of speech in this album serve to strengthen emotional expression, enrich the choice of diction, and bring the imagery to life.
