Analisis Kesalahan Diksi dalam Penulisan Makalah Mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi
Abstract
Kemampuan menulis karya ilmiah dengan penggunaan bahasa Indonesia yang baik dan benar merupakan keterampilan penting bagi mahasiswa. Namun, dalam praktiknya masih ditemukan kesalahan diksi dalam penulisan makalah, seperti ketidaktepatan pemilihan kata, penggunaan istilah yang tidak sesuai, serta ketidakkonsistenan ejaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bentuk-bentuk kesalahan diksi dalam penulisan makalah mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi Universitas Negeri Medan. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisisisi (content analysis). Data berupa kata, frasa, dan kalimat yang mengandung kesalahan diksi dalam 10 makalah mahasiswa yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui teknik dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis melalui tahap identifikasi, klasifikasi, dan deskripsi. Keabsahan data diuji menggunakan triangulasi teori. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kesalahan diksi meliputi kesalahan penulisan istilah ilmiah, penggunaan kata tidak baku, ketidak efektifan kalimat, ketidaktepatan makna, kesalahan afiksasi dan redundansi, serta kesalahan pada penulisan rujukan. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan pemilihan kata mahasiswa masih perlu ditingkatkan. Kesimpulannya, kesalahan diksi masih dominan dalam penulisan makalah dan berdampak pada kualitas karya ilmiah, sehingga diperlukan penguatan pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia akademik di perguruan tinggi.
