Efektifitas Penerapan Strategi PQ4R dalam Meningkatkan Membaca Pemahaman Siswa Kelas VIII SMPN 4 Latambaga Tahun Ajaran 2021/2022
Abstract
Membaca merupakan bagian yang tidak terpisahkan dalam proses pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia pada semua jenjang tingkatan pendidikan formal, termasuk pada pembelajarana SMP khususnya. Secara umum rana aspek berbahasa mencakup kemampuan aspek berbicara, menyimak atau mendengar, menulis dan membaca yang menjadi sarana bagi siswa dalam menyalurkan isi dan gagasannya. Dari keempat aspek tersebut membaca merupakan hal yang cukup penting untuk dikuasai siswa karena dengan membaca wawasan dan pengetahuan baru dapat terasah dengan baik. Pada jenjang SMP, pembelajaran membaca secara khusus diajarkan pada kelas VIII, sehingga upaya dalam peningkatan hasil pembelajaran membaca khususnya dalam aspek pemahaman membaca tertuang dalam penelitian ini yang memiliki rumusan masalah yaitu “bagaimanakah peningkatan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas VIII SMPN 4 Latambaga dengan penerapan strategi PQ4R”. Tujuan penelitian ini guna mendeskripsikan sejauh mana keefektifan strategi PQ4R dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemhaman siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan metode Kuantitatif dengan menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, tes dan dokumentasi sedangkan analisis datanya adalah melihat sejauh mana keberhasilan nilai ketuntasan siswa pada setiap siklusnya. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan peningkatan sebesar 35% yaitu dari 40% ke 75% atau dari 8 siswa yang berhasil memperoleh nilai KKM pada siklus I ke 15 Siswa yang berhasil memperoleh nilai KKM pada siklusII. Dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan Strategi PQ4R dapat membawa peningkatan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa khususnya kelas VIII SMPN 4 Latambaga.
