Nilai Budaya dalam Tuturan Upacara Adat Mappenre Tojang Masyarakat Bugis Kabupaten Sidrap Tinjauan Antropolinguistik
Abstract
Bahasa tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai alat komunikasi, tetapi juga sebagai cerminan nilai-nilai budaya masyarakat penuturnya. Antropolinguistik merupakan cabang ilmu linguistik yang meneliti keterkaitan antara bahasa dan budaya. Upacara Mappenre Tojang merupakan salah satu tradisi yang berkaitan dengan sistem kepercayaan dan penghormatan terhadap leluhur. Tuturan dalam upacara ini tidak hanya mengandung pesan religius dan spiritual, tetapi juga merefleksikan struktur sosial dan relasi antargenerasi dalam masyarakat Bugis. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan antropolinguistik. Pendekatan ini digunakan untuk menggambarkan dan menganalisis bentuk, fungsi, serta makna tuturan dalam upacara adat Mappenre Tojang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tuturan dalam upacara adat Mappenre Tojang masyarakat Bugis di Kabupaten Sidrap mengandung berbagai nilai budaya yang mencerminkan pandangan hidup, sistem kepercayaan, serta norma sosial masyarakat Bugis. Tuturan-tuturan tersebut tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai sarana komunikasi ritual, tetapi juga sebagai media pewarisan nilai-nilai budaya secara turun-temurun.
