Vitalitas Bahasa Bacan
Abstract
Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan hubungan karakteristik bahasa Bacan dari segi jenis kelamin dan usia hubungannya dengan subindeks kriteria vitalitas bahasa Bacan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Tempat penelitian di Desa Amzing (Bacan) Kabupaten Halmahera Selatan. Waktu penelitian selama enamn bulan, April-September 2024. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah warga yang berdiam di Desa Amazing dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling, yaitu pengambilan sampel yang dilakukan dengan sengaja dan dianggap sudah representatif untuk mewakili populasi yang diteliti. sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 100 responden penutur bahasa Bacan, baik laki-laki maupun perempuan. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan studi literatur, wawancara, dan penyebaran kuesioner yang telah disiapkan untuk diisi oleh responden yang dituju. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah menggunakann model skala likert dan indeks dengan uji compare men dengan menggunakan aplikasi IBM SPSS Statistik. Berdasarkan hasil analisis penelitian, ditemukan hubungan antara jenis kelamin dan subindeks Vitalitas Bahasa Bacan menunjukkan bahwa baik penutur laki-laki maupun perempuan berkontribusi pada kondisi bahasa yang mengalami kemunduran (eroding), dengan rerata indeks keseluruhan sebesar 0,58. Meskipun subindeks sikap bahasa (Isikap), pembelajaran bahasa (Ipemb), dan keberterimaan bahasa (Itangba) menunjukkan nilai tinggi, subindeks keberlangsungan penutur (Ikoba), bilingualisme (Ibil), dan ranah penggunaan (Iranah) berada pada kategori rendah. Temuan ini menegaskan adanya kesenjangan antara sikap positif terhadap Bahasa Bacan dan praktik penggunaan aktual dalam kehidupan sehari-hari lintas jenis kelamin. Dengan demikian, jenis kelamin bukan merupakan faktor pembeda utama dalam tingkat vitalitas bahasa, melainkan berfungsi sebagai variabel pendukung yang potensinya belum dioptimalkan dalam proses transmisi dan pemertahanan bahasa.
