Kosmologis dalam Tenun Lipa’ Sa’be Bugis Perspektif Grounded Theory
Abstract
Lipa’ Sa’be Bugis adalah tekstil tradisional yang tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai objek estetis dan fungsional, tetapi juga berperan sebagai sistem semiotik yang menyampaikan makna kosmologis dan spiritual dalam masyarakat Bugis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi bagaimana motif, warna, dan proses menenun dalam Lipa’ Sa’be mengkomunikasikan pandangan dunia Bugis. Dengan menggunakan analisis semiotik dan grounded theory, penelitian ini menganalisis signifikansi simbolik Lipa’ Sa’be dan perannya dalam mentransmisikan pengetahuan kosmologis. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pola geometris, warna, dan bahan tekstil ini mengandung prinsip kosmologis, yang mewakili hubungan antara manusia, alam, dan kekuatan ilahi. Selain itu, proses menenun itu sendiri dipandang sebagai praktik spiritual yang menghubungkan penenun dengan kekuatan kosmik, mencerminkan keyakinan akan keterkaitan antara alam semesta. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi pada bidang semiotika budaya dengan menawarkan perspektif baru mengenai bagaimana seni tradisional mengkomunikasikan makna kosmologis yang kompleks. Penelitian ini juga menyoroti peran kerajinan tradisional dalam pelestarian identitas budaya dan transmisi pengetahuan spiritual antar generasi. Implikasi dari studi ini menyarankan adanya penelitian lebih lanjut mengenai hubungan antara bentuk seni tradisional lainnya dan kosmologi dalam berbagai budaya Indonesia, untuk memperluas pemahaman tentang bagaimana budaya material berfungsi sebagai media ekspresi kosmologis.
