Pembelajaran Sastra Berbasis Budaya Lokal sebagai Strategi Penguatan Pendidikan Karakter: Studi Kasus pada Cerita Rakyat Malin Kundang
Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kontribusi pembelajaran sastra berbasis budaya lokal melalui cerita rakyat Malin Kundang sebagai strategi penguatan pendidikan karakter di lingkungan sekolah. Karya sastra, khususnya cerita rakyat, memiliki fungsi edukatif yang signifikan dalam internalisasi nilai-nilai karakter karena sarat dengan pesan moral, spiritual, dan kearifan lokal yang kontekstual terhadap kehidupan peserta didik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi pustaka (library research). Data diperoleh melalui telaah mendalam terhadap berbagai literatur akademik yang relevan, meliputi buku, artikel ilmiah, dan hasil penelitian terdahulu terkait pendidikan karakter, pembelajaran sastra, dan nilai moral dalam cerita Malin Kundang. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kualitatif melalui tahapan reduksi, penyajian, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa cerita Malin Kundang mengandung nilai-nilai karakter fundamental, antara lain religiusitas, tanggung jawab, kerja keras, kejujuran, dan kerendahan hati. Pembelajaran sastra berbasis budaya lokal tidak hanya memperkuat literasi bahasa, tetapi juga menumbuhkan empati, kesadaran moral, dan kebanggaan terhadap identitas budaya bangsa. Dengan demikian, pembelajaran sastra berbasis cerita rakyat Malin Kundang dapat berfungsi sebagai media strategis dalam membentuk karakter peserta didik yang berintegritas, berakhlak mulia, dan berakar pada nilai-nilai kearifan lokal Indonesia.
