Dampak Integrasi Strategi Metakognitif Dalam Proses Menulis Terhadap Kemampuan Menulis Esai
Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan unuk menguji dampak strategi metakognitif dalam proses menulis terhadap kemampuan menulis dan menguji tingkat validitas instrument strategi penulisan metakognitif. Partisipan penelitian berjumlah 250 mahasiswa yang berasal dari perguruan tinggi di wilayah Jawa Tengah, Indonesia. Analisis desain factorial digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Temuan penelitian pertama menunjukkan bahwa pertama strategi metakognisi memberikan kontribusi yang signifikan terhadap kemampuan menulis akademik mahasiswa. Kedua, instrumen kuesioner tentang penggunaan strategi metakognitif dalam proses menulis terbukti valid karena dapat menilai kesadaran metakognisi mahasiswa. Strategi metakognitif berperan sebagai kontruksi tingkat tinggi serta ditemukan korelasi yang positif antardimensi pada strategi metakognitif. Dimensi metakognisi yang ditemukan saling berkorelasi dan memberikan kontribusi adalah pengetahuan deklaratif, prosedural, kondisional, perencanaan, pemantauan, evaluasi, strategi manajemen informasi, dan strategi debugging. Dari perbandingan model pertama (model orde kedua satu factor) dan model kedua (model korelasi delapan komponen) yang diusulkan ditemukan bahwa indeks kecocokan model yang kedua lebih baik dibandingkan dengan kecocokan model pertama. Penelitian ini berimplikasi bahwa kemampuan menulis akademik dapat ditingkatkan melalui peningkatan kesadaran metakognisi dan kemampuan reflektif mahasiswa terhadap proses menulisnya sendiri..
