The Effect of Demonstration Learning Methods on the Procedural Writing Skills of Seventh Grade Students at SMP Negeri 22 Jakarta Barat
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using the demonstration learning method on the procedural writing skills of seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 22 Jakarta Barat. The research method used was an experimental method with a post-test only control group design. The population consisted of 217 students, and the sample size used in this study was 60 students, using random sampling techniques. The instrument used in this study was an assessment sheet. The results of this study indicate that based on the calculation of the t-value (t_i > t_a or 19.50 > 2.00172), H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, meaning that there is a significant effect of the Demonstration learning method on the ability to write procedural texts among seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 22 Jakarta Barat, as this learning method resulted in a higher average score of 87.63 compared to the average score of 58.44 from the Picture and Picture learning method.
