Efektivitas Metode Active Learning dalam Mengembangkan Kosakata Medis Bahasa Inggris pada Mahasiswa Kebidanan
Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas metode Active Learning dalam mengembangkan kosakata medis Bahasa Inggris pada mahasiswa kebidanan di Institut Ilmu Kesehatan Pelamonia. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain pre-experimental dengan pendekatan One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Sampel penelitian adalah 30 mahasiswa kebidanan di Institut Ilmu Kesehatan Pelamonia. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes kosakata medis Bahasa Inggris yang diberikan sebelum (pretest) dan sesudah (posttest) intervensi penerapan Active Learning selama delapan minggu pertemuan. Analisis data dilakukan secara kuantitatif menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan uji-t berpasangan (paired t-test). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebelum intervensi, rata-rata skor penguasaan kosakata medis Bahasa Inggris mahasiswa adalah 55.67 (kategori rendah). Setelah penerapan metode Active Learning, rata-rata skor meningkat signifikan menjadi 79.33. Hasil uji-t berpasangan menunjukkan nilai signifikansi (p-value) 0.000, yang berarti terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan secara statistik antara skor pretest dan posttest. Metode Active Learning terbukti sangat efektif dalam meningkatkan penguasaan kosakata medis Bahasa Inggris pada mahasiswa kebidanan di Institut Ilmu Kesehatan Pelamonia. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan integrasi Active Learning ke dalam kurikulum pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris untuk profesi kesehatan.
