Rekonseptualisasi Makna Tanda Melalui Perspektif Semiotika Roland Barthes Dalam Film “Jagad Alam Gaib: Sinden Gaib”
Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap makna denotatif, konotatif, dan mitos yang terkandung dalam film “Jagad Alam Gaib: Sinden Gaib” dengan menggunakan teori semiotika Roland Barthes. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan objek kajian berupa film dan subjek berupa leksia-leksia yang diambil dari hasil transkrip film. Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana unsur-unsur budaya tradisional direpresentasikan dan diinterpretasikan ulang dalam narasi film. Makna denotatif ditemukan melalui penggambaran budaya Jawa seperti sosok sinden, pakaian adat, serta suasana lingkungan tradisional. Makna konotatif muncul melalui simbol-simbol spiritual, di mana sinden tidak hanya ditampilkan sebagai seniman, tetapi juga sebagai medium antara dunia manusia dan dunia gaib. Pada tingkat mitos, film ini merefleksikan ideologi lokal tentang hubungan harmonis antara manusia dan alam spiritual, yang dibentuk melalui sistem tanda tingkat kedua. Analisis semakin diperdalam dengan penerapan lima kode narasi Roland Barthes diantaranya, hermeneutik, proaeretik, semik, simbolik, dan kultural yang mengungkap bagaimana film membangun ketegangan, aksi, dan makna secara naratif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa “Sinden Gaib” bukan sekadar film horor, tetapi juga ruang sinematik yang merepresentasikan pelestarian tradisi dan penyampaian nilai-nilai spiritual kepada masyarakat modern. Film ini membuktikan bahwa mitos dan budaya lokal dapat diintegrasikan secara efektif ke dalam narasi visual untuk menciptakan cerita berlapis yang kaya secara emosional dan ideologis.
