Dampak Media Sosial terhadap Perubahan Nilai-nilai Budaya di Kalangan Generasi Muda
Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi dampak media sosial terhadap perubahan nilai-nilai budaya di kalangan generasi muda di Indonesia. Dengan meningkatnya penggunaan platform media sosial seperti Instagram, Twitter, dan TikTok, generasi muda terpapar pada berbagai nilai dan norma yang beragam, yang dapat mempengaruhi cara mereka berpikir dan berperilaku. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan wawancara mendalam dan survei terhadap beberapa responden yang terdiri dari pelajar dan mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media sosial berperan signifikan dalam mengubah nilai-nilai budaya, baik secara positif maupun negatif. Di satu sisi, media sosial memperkenalkan nilai-nilai inklusivitas dan keberagaman, sementara di sisi lain, juga menyebabkan penurunan nilai-nilai tradisional dan peningkatan perilaku konsumtif. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa meskipun media sosial dapat menjadi alat untuk memperkaya budaya, ada risiko yang perlu diwaspadai terkait dengan hilangnya nilai-nilai budaya lokal.
