Efektifitas Buku Cerita Bergambar Berbasis Kearifan Lokal untuk Meningkatkan Keterampilan Membaca Siswa
Abstract
Keterampilan membaca merupakan keharusan dalam kehidupan, karena dengan membaca siswa akan memiliki pengetahuan dan wawasan yang lebih luas lagi. Dengan Menggunakan buku cerita bergambar berbasis kearifan lokal menjadikan anak memiliki ketertarikan membaca buku walaupun anak hanya membalikan lembar demi lembar tanpa memahami makna yang ada di dalamnya. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas buku cerita bergambar berbasis kearifan lokal terhadap keterampilan membaca pada siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu lembar observasi dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa buku cerita bergambar berbasis kearifan lokal sangat efektif terhadap keterampilan membaca siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (a) keefektivan buku cerita bergambar untuk siswa sangat membantu untuk menumbuhkan minat baca, (b) hasil pengamatan yang didapatkan bahwa anak senang menggunakan buku cerita bergambar. Hal ini berarti bahwa buku cerita bergambar efektif meningkatkan keterampilan membaca. Dengan demikian, buku cerita bergambar perlu dikenalkan terhadap anak untuk membantu dalam peningkatan keterampilan membaca.
